FirstPort colleagues have taken action to protect the environment and teamed up to collect over a dozen bags of litter as part of the Great British Spring Clean.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Litter can not only have a huge impact on the environment and be harmful to wildlife, but it can also be a blight to communities. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In support of the campaign, which is run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, FirstPort colleagues formed teams and went litter picking across their local areas.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each team, based in different areas of the UK, picked up litter around their development and then walked to their local public green spaces and parks to continue the community clean up.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica Farrell, Head of Operations at FirstPort, said: <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLitter picking is a simple action we can take to make a quick and visible difference to our local community, and it helps the environment too.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want our customers to feel proud of the communities they live in, which is exactly why we signed up to the Great British Spring Clean.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDespite the rain in some places, we were able to collect lots of bags of litter and make the communities we operate in a welcoming and litter-free place to live.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Great British Spring Clean, which takes place from 25th March to 10th April 2023, relies on volunteers to pick up rubbish across their local communities and then appropriately dispose of it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Property Manager Harry Stanbury joined colleagues to collect litter in the green spaces around a FirstPort development in Marston Moretaine, Bedford.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harry explained: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I had a great time taking part in the Great British Spring Clean making a difference to our countryside and cleaning up, each piece of litter I collected was one less piece that could damage our wildlife.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

FirstPort Property Manager Savannah St Rose also took part in the Great British Spring Clean. She added: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere were five of us in attendance from FirstPort. Despite the heavy rain, it was a good experience and we managed to pick up more than we expected.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOverall, we collected five bags of rubbish, and it was such a great group experience that we would do again!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n
