{"id":1532,"date":"2024-01-17T11:24:46","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T11:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.firstport.co.uk\/news\/firstport-achieves-bsc-2023\/"},"modified":"2025-07-31T13:01:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T12:01:49","slug":"firstport-achieves-bsc-2023","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.firstport.co.uk\/news\/firstport-achieves-bsc-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"FirstPort achieves five-star grading in British Safety Council audit for eighth year in a row"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">FirstPort has achieved a five-star grading in the British Safety Council\u2019s Occupational Health and Safety Audit for the eighth consecutive year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The five-star grading demonstrates FirstPort\u2019s dedication towards the continual improvement of its occupational health and safety management systems, policies, and processes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The latest best practice accreditation, carried out in November 2023, involved British Safety Council auditors visiting FirstPort developments and meeting with site staff, as well as documentation reviews and interviews with senior management.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The audit, which includes a detailed review of almost sixty component elements, highlighted FirstPort\u2019s&nbsp;<\/span>ability to take a systematic approach to assessing occupational health and safety risks, opportunities, and performance, whilst providing a framework to set objectives for continual improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">FirstPort\u2019s commitment to Health and Safety is bolstered by an additional ISO 45001 certification, which was achieved alongside the five-star grading for the second consecutive year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The ISO 45001 certification is a globally recognised standard for ensuring health and safety in the workplace.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\"><strong>Mike Robinson, CEO of British Safety Council, said: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">\u201cThe award of a five-star grading following our occupational best practice Health and Safety Audit is an outstanding achievement and is reflective of a proactive organisation which is committed to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers\u2019 health, safety and wellbeing.
